About

Lost Island is a production from Net Entertainment, a game that seems to take us to a long lost island, one that wasn’t seen by any modern man for a very long time. The local tribes seem to be quite primitive, based on the kind of objects that we’re seeing on the reels of the game. It’s an adventure theme basically, which doesn’t make it unique, but thanks to Net Ent’s skill when it comes to design it’s still going to be fun to play and look at. You shouldn’t expect an unusual setup from a Net Ent game, most of them going with an average number of lines, just like Lost Island does. It has 20 win lines that are going to be fixed and available each round. You will discover that the slot comes with wild symbols, with scatters, free spins and multipliers that could reach a maximum of 5x. A jackpot of $12,500 is possible in the game.

Betting requirements

Because we’re looking at a Net Ent game, we have a system where the Bet Level signifies how many coins are going to be used per active line. The level goes from 1 to 10, so you use 1 to 10 coins for each line. You get 20 fixed lines, meaning that depending on the bet level you can use 20 to 200 coins in your bets. There is also the coin value that can be changed, and it is worth between $0.01 and $0.50. You can end up with bets of up to $100, but you can also get away with as little as $0.20.

Theme & Design

The action seems to be taking place on a lost island, a place that the modern world hasn’t touched yet, and so everything looks a lot more primitive, almost the sort of thing that you expect to see in a museum. The images shown on those reels have no characters among them, only various objects of high quality that the local civilization has created. You’re going to see this island, and its wonderful plant life, in the background. If you look closely at what those symbols are showing, you will recognize among them a necklace, a drum, a beautiful flower, a broach and various others. The low paying symbols are unfortunately images of Royals, of the poker cards going from the 10 to the Ace.

Special Features

I spoke before about the image of a beautiful flower, which you will find among the symbols. It’s used here to represent the wild feature. You have these symbol appearing in any position in the game, both for the regular and the free spins. They are used as usual, as substitutes together with all regular symbols when their position allows it. They will not be used as replacements for scatters. There is an added advantage to these symbols when they make their appearances. Each wild symbol that is on the reels will give you a 1x multiplier, to be used for all the wins of that round. You can have up to five wild symbols present, and so the multiplier trail at the top can go up to 5x. The multipliers come from the wilds for the free spins as well, not just for the paid spins. The Scatter symbol is not as interesting to look at, showing some kind of turtle inspired jewel with a logo on top. You have these symbols appear anywhere, and with three or more you get a prize and free spins. The prizes can be at 10x, 20x or 30x the bet. The free spins have a couple of advantages, over the regular spins. First of all, you’re going to get a wild symbol permanently in position on the 3rd reel, in the middle position. Second, the wild symbols can also land in stacks of two or three icons, not just in regular size. The same multiplier from the base game is available here as well, based on the number of visible wilds.

Jackpot

In order to get the biggest prizes of the game, you will need help from the wild symbol and the multipliers that they bring to all the wins. A regular win of up to 500x, meaning up to 5,000 coins, can be turned into one of 25,000 coins if five wild symbols are visible in the game. As for the actual value of such a win, with a coin at $0.50 it could mean $12,500 cash. A 96.50% average Return to Player is available in Lost Island, making it an average game for Net Ent, but a good one if you compare it with what’s generally offered out there.

Conclusion

Lost Island has the right graphics for the most part, an adventure inspired theme that I did appreciate, and features that can’t be considered standard. Overall, it’s a game that I would want to return to at some point.
