Our review method

How we review online slot sites

Every slot site on SlotsRank is reviewed in three steps and judged on the same eight areas, from licensing and bonus terms to M-Pesa payments and support. This page sets out what each area covers and how it feeds the final score.

In short

  1. 3

Steps in every review: collect and verify the facts, analyse them against one framework, then the editorial assessment.

  2. 8

Areas scored for each site, the same for every operator.

  3. 30x

The wagering level we treat as the upper end of reasonable for a slot bonus.

How we work

Our approach to Kenyan slot site reviews

A review looks at how a site works in use, not how it is presented: how clear the terms are, how the slots run on a phone, which local payment methods work and how withdrawals are handled.

Facts from the operator (licence, terms, payment methods, limits) are checked against the source before they are published, and the review states what could not be confirmed.

Three steps

The steps behind every review

  1. Collect and verify

Licence details, terms and conditions, bonus rules, payment methods and limits are gathered from the operator and checked against the regulator's or the operator's own published sources.

  2. Analyse

The findings are scored against the same framework used for every site, so two reviews can be compared directly.

  3. Assess

An editor weighs how the parts fit together (navigation, clarity of information, how the slot library and payments work as a whole) and signs off the final review and score.

Evaluation framework

The eight areas we assess

  • Reputation and licensing

Which licence the operator holds, checked with the issuing regulator, and its record on disputes and payouts.

So what: A licence you can verify gives you a regulator to complain to.

  • Safety and player protection

Encryption, data protection and responsible-gambling tools: deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion, and how easy they are to use.

So what: Limits only help if you can set them in a few taps.

  • Transparency of terms

Bonus rules, withdrawal conditions and verification requirements, and whether the operator says who owns it.

So what: Unclear terms are the usual cause of a refused withdrawal.

  • Slot bonuses

Wagering, time limits, maximum bet and game restrictions, worked out on slot play. About 30x or lower counts as reasonable.

So what: You see what an offer costs before you claim it.

  • Slot library and software

Which studios are available, the range of games and whether the RTP of each game is shown.

So what: A large library is worth less if the casino hides the RTP version it runs.

  • Payments and withdrawals

Deposit and withdrawal methods for Kenya, including M-Pesa and Airtel Money where offered, limits, disclosed fees and stated processing times.

So what: You know whether you can cash out the same way you paid in.

  • Localisation for Kenya

Kenyan shilling accounts, local payment methods and support that is available to Kenyan players.

So what: Playing in shillings avoids conversion costs on every deposit.

  • Customer support

Which contact channels exist, when they are open and whether the answers resolve the question.

So what: Support decides how fast a payment problem gets fixed.

Worked example

Why 30x is the line for a fair slot bonus

On a KSh 1,000 bonus at 96% RTP, the expected cost of clearing the wagering passes the bonus value at 25x.

Questions about our reviews

How many areas does a SlotsRank review cover?

Eight: reputation and licensing, safety and player protection, transparency of terms, slot bonuses, the slot library, payments, localisation for Kenya, and customer support.

What wagering do you treat as reasonable?

About 30x or lower. On a KSh 1,000 bonus, 30x means KSh 30,000 in slot bets before you can withdraw; at 96% RTP those bets cost about KSh 1,200 on average, more than the bonus itself.

Do you check M-Pesa and Airtel Money?

Yes. A review lists the payment methods the casino offers Kenyan players, with any limits and fees the casino discloses. The casino boxes on our pages show the current methods.

Is a review the same as a ranking?

No. A review covers one site in depth; the ranking places the reviewed sites in one list. See how we rank for the second step.
