Every slot on SlotsRank has its own page built from one dataset: the studio, RTP, volatility, reels, paylines, bet range in shillings, themes and features, plus a free demo where the studio offers one. From the RTP we work out what the slot costs per spin in KSh and compare it with the median of our catalogue. This page explains where each figure comes from, how the cost maths works and what we leave out because it cannot be checked.

What every slot page shows

The facts box at the top of each slot page lists the same fields for every game, so you can compare two slots side by side:

FieldWhat it tells youSource
StudioWho made the game; links to the studio page with its other slotsStudio
RTPShare of stakes paid back over the long runStudio's published specification
VolatilityHow unevenly wins are spread, on a five-step scale from Low to ExtremeStudio's published rating

Below the facts box, the page lists the casinos in our ranking that carry the studio, with their current welcome offers, so the step from reading to playing uses the same ranking as the rest of the site. See how we rank.

The cost-per-spin table

RTP is easier to judge as a price. Each slot page turns it into a cost table with one formula: expected cost = bet × spins × (1 − RTP). The table shows that cost for KSh 10, 20, 50 and 100 bets over 100 spins, 1,000 spins and an hour of play, and compares it with a slot at our catalogue median RTP of 96.01%.

For Gates of Olympus at 96.50%, 1,000 spins at KSh 20 stake KSh 20,000 and cost KSh 700 on average, about KSh 98 less than a slot at the median. For a 94% slot the same session costs KSh 1,200. These are long-run averages: one session can end far above or below them, more so on a high-volatility slot.

Where the figures come from and how we check them

Game figures come from the studio's published specification for the standard version of the game. Before a figure appears on a page it has to pass basic checks:

  • An RTP outside 80–100% is treated as a data error and not shown.
  • Volatility labels are mapped to one five-step scale (Low, Medium, High, Very High, Extreme); a label that does not fit the scale is not shown.
  • If a studio rates almost all its games the same, its volatility ratings are not shown, because they do not help you compare.
  • Maximum win, hit frequency and release date are only printed when the studio's own game page or help file states them.

Where a figure cannot be confirmed, the field stays empty. An empty field means "not published", not zero.

What a slot page cannot tell you

Our figures describe the studio's standard version. Three limits matter when you play:

Your casino may run a different RTP

Many studios sell the same slot in several RTP versions and the casino chooses one. Open the game's rules or paytable at your casino to see the version you are playing; the demo on our page is the studio's own build. Our RTP guide shows how to find it.

Feature tags can be incomplete

Feature tags such as bonus buy or Megaways are set by our editors and are not always complete or current, because a studio can release the same game with and without a feature. Check the game's info screen before you rely on one.

Some games have little published data

Smaller studios publish less. In our catalogue of 2,096 slots, an RTP is available for 890 and a volatility rating for 879; the rest show the fields their studio publishes.

For you this means two things. A slot with a full facts box can be compared on cost and risk straight away. For a slot with gaps, the free demo and the game's info screen at your casino are the places to check before you stake real money.

Corrections

Studios update games and casinos change versions. If a figure on a slot page does not match what you see in the game, tell us which page and what the game showed, and we will check it against the studio's specification.
