Payment ticks come from each casino's live payment list; a dash means it is not listed, not that it is missing.

Best for

Which slot site fits how you pay

Read from each casino's listed payment methods, currencies and languages.

Mobile money

M-Pesa and Airtel Money deposits

1xBet, 22BET, 888STARZ, Betwinner and Captainsbet list both wallets for deposits. Betum and AvaBet list M-Pesa only.

What it means: None of them lists M-Pesa as a withdrawal method, so confirm the cash-out route in the cashier before the first deposit.

Shilling account

Play in Kenyan shillings

1xBet, 22BET, Captainsbet, Betum and AvaBet list KES as an account currency.

What it means: A KES balance spares you a currency conversion on every deposit and withdrawal.

Swahili

A site in Swahili

1xBet, 22BET, 888STARZ and Betwinner list Swahili among their site languages.

What it means: Bonus terms in your first language are easier to check before you opt in.

Tax

What a win pays after the 20% withholding

A licensed operator pays out 80% of a win. Plan your budget with the net figure, not the one on the reel.

How to check a slot site from Kenya

1

Read the licence line

Each row in the list shows the licence we list for the casino. A Gambling Regulatory Authority licence puts the site under Kenyan supervision; an offshore licence leaves complaints with the offshore regulator.

2

Check the cashier both ways

Its profile lists deposit methods. Open the cashier and confirm that M-Pesa or Airtel Money also works for withdrawals, and note the minimum cash-out.

3

Price the bonus

Wagering decides what a bonus is worth. At a 96% slot, wagering free-spin winnings more than about 25 times costs more than the spins win on average.

Free spins value →
4

Check the RTP version

The same game can be supplied in more than one RTP version, and the casino chooses which one to run. The game's info screen shows the version you are playing.

What RTP means →
5

Budget after tax

When the operator withholds the 20%, count a win at 80% of the figure on screen.

Most slots with an RTP on record sit between 95% and 97%. Fewer than half of the slots carry an RTP on this site, so the spread describes the studios that publish one.

Computed from the slots we list. RTP is each slot's listed figure for its standard version; volatility counts only ratings on a five-step scale from studios whose ratings vary.

Terms

Kenyan gambling terms on this page

Withholding tax on winnings
20% of a win that a licensed operator keeps back and pays to the Kenya Revenue Authority. So what: Count a win at 80% of its screen value.
Excise duty
A 5% duty on amounts deposited for gaming, charged from 1 July 2026. So what: A deposit costs more than the stake it buys.
Offshore licence
A licence from a regulator outside Kenya, such as Curacao or Anjouan. So what: Disputes go to that regulator, not to the Gambling Regulatory Authority.
Wagering requirement
How many times bonus money or free-spin winnings must be staked before you can withdraw them. So what: Above about 25 times at a 96% slot, the average cost of wagering exceeds the bonus.

Online slots in Kenya: questions

Are online slots legal in Kenya?

Online gambling, online casinos included, is legal in Kenya for adults 18 and over when the operator holds a licence from the Gambling Regulatory Authority under the Gambling Control Act, 2025.

None of the sites ranked on this page lists a Kenyan licence. They operate under offshore licences, so the offshore regulator, not the Authority, handles a dispute with them.

Who regulates gambling in Kenya?

The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya. The Gambling Control Act, 2025, assented on 7 August 2025, created it to take over from the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) and repealed the Betting, Lotteries and Gaming Act (Cap. 131).

What is happening with the 2026 licensing regulations?

The Gambling Control (Licensing) Regulations, 2026 were gazetted at the end of June 2026. The High Court suspended them on 20 July 2026. On 7 August it narrowed the order to the higher licence fees and capital rules so licensing could resume, and on 24 August it allowed the Authority to collect the new fees too, with the Authority undertaking to refund them if the rules fall. The challenge (Judicial Review E251 of 2026) is still open: no judgment was delivered on 2 October 2026 and the case was listed for directions on 12 October 2026.

Do I pay tax on slot winnings in Kenya?

Since 1 July 2026 the Finance Act 2026 charges a 20% withholding tax on winnings, which a licensed operator deducts before paying you: a KSh 10,000 win pays KSh 8,000. The same Act charges 5% excise duty on amounts deposited for gaming.

What is the minimum age for online slots in Kenya?

18. Every site on this page is for adults 18 and over only.

Can I deposit with M-Pesa at these slot sites?

Seven of the sites we review list M-Pesa for deposits: 1xBet, 22BET, 888STARZ, Betwinner, Captainsbet, Betum and AvaBet. None of them has M-Pesa listed as a withdrawal method, so check the cashier for the cash-out route before you deposit.
