Sugar Parade is a new game from Microgaming and a title that promises to take us to a magical world of sweets. Everywhere you look in this game, either on the reels or around them, you will find sugar-filled goodies, and they’re going to be presented in a high-quality design. In Sugar Parade, the game will place on 5x3 reels a fixed number of lines, 15 of them. You will get a shot at winning payouts that get even as high as $187,500. As for the features that any modern game has to offer, in this case, you will have a wild, a couple of scatters, free spins, a bonus game, and multipliers.
You might not get any input when it comes to the number of active lines that will be covered each round, but at least you have all the control you could want when it comes to the bets that they get. Each of the 15 fixed win lines has between 1 and 5 coins covering it, while denominations start at $0.01 and can reach $5. You can spend up to $25 per line and up to $375 total for all of them. The minimum bet is at just $0.15 though, so it’s easily accessible to most players.
As the title mentions, and as I said before as well, it’s all about sweets with this game. The background image is one of the things that you will see that is related, and it has entire hills and trees that are designed to look like they were made out of delicious sweets. They have a bluish tint to them in this case, but they still work well. At the top, you will see a rainbow going from one side to the other. The candy theme extends to the reels as well, where the paytable gets you started with the low-paying cards first. Those are sugar confections by the looks of it, though modeled to look like poker cards. They look more fun than the average poker card though. Once you get to the better-paying symbols, you’re going to find the sugar-themed characters. They’re quite cute and very well decorated, taking the form of cupcakes, candy and cake, among others. Quality-wise, I enjoyed what Sugar Parade has to offer, though the thing looks so sweet that you might get a toothache just by looking at it. I’ve seen plenty of new Microgaming released in the last couple of years, and visually I’d definitely put this one among the better ones.
Sugar Parade relies on three different symbols to bring its features to life. You’re looking at the usual trio, of wild, bonus, and free spins triggering scatter symbol. The character that looks like a box, with a queen’s crown on its head, is the one that can trigger the bonus game. These are not scatter icons, so you need them forming a combination on one of the active lines, with three or more symbols. It’s a picking game, which gives you more choices to make if you have more than three symbols triggering it. With the maximum wager of $375 in place, you can get total prizes worth anywhere between $900 and $12,500. You can get these bonus games during the free spins, but the multiplier will not apply to them. What you will love most about the next symbol, the wild, is that it will pay the most. It might be nice to have it help you as a substitute, but none of the symbols that it assists can get you as much money as the wild can. A full combo of five wilds will pay as much as $187,500, which is a decent 7,500x the line bet. Of course, you can also have it substitute for others, as long as they’re not considered scatter or bonus symbols. For the third symbol, a scatter, you have the image of an ice cream cone character. It can pay quite well just by appearing on the reels enough times, as much as 400 times the bet. On top of that, with at least three in position on the reels you will get its 10 free spins and the 3x multiplier that triples all wins that you land inside. You can even trigger the free spins again, as you’re using the initial batch.
The symbol that pays the most is the wild, and it’s quite clear about that. There is no real competition for it, as this symbol can form a combo that rewards you with up to $187,500 during regular spins. That doesn’t even take into consideration the multiplier of the free spins, where that amount is tripled. With the theoretical RTP standing at 96.50%, it’s one of the slot machines that is worthy of your attention, at least from this point of view.
Sugar Parade is a solid new release of Microgaming’s, so if you enjoy their content and you don’t mind the sugary theme, then I’d say definitely go for it.
