About

Hitman is a game that’s offered by Microgaming, an older slot machine of theirs which is inspired by a popular video game series that has the same name. Hitman has been around, in different versions, since the early 2000s, but this slot machine is based on the game that came out in 2006. The game that they ended up creating has a total of 15 active lines and it can deliver the player a jackpot of $40,000. It’s going to have plenty of good features, among them being free spins, expanding wilds, scatter symbols and multipliers. The layout is the standard one, using 5 reels and 3 symbols in each case.

Betting requirements

Hitman’s betting system covers 15 active lines or fewer. You use at least 1 coin for each selected line, with the maximum number allowing for 20 coins per line. The coins can have maximum denominations of $0.50, so you can end up wagering with up to $150 each round, through the 300 coins that you have in the bet.

Theme & Design

The theme in this case seems to be based on the fourth Hitman video game to come out. It was called Hitman: Blood Money, and it came out in 2006, so over a decade ago. This isn’t a new game from Microgaming, that much is clear. There were movies as well, based on the same Agent 47, but it was the video game that was chosen for this particular slot’s design. You have images of the assassin and of various weapons and pieces of equipment that he employs. There is nothing on those reels that isn’t relevant. To mention some of the symbols that you can get as you play, there will be images of knives, laptops, handguns, poison injections, sniper rifles and multiple images of the assassin. The graphics quality is in line with the images that you can see in the video game. It’s not a new game, so the graphics aren’t quite as good as those you would see today in slots. Still, it’s a playable slot machine if you’re a fan of the franchise, and it’s not as bad as other slots that were released back then.

Special Features

The part about the game that will remind you the most about the action from the video game will be the bonus game. It’s called Contract Bonus, and it triggers when you have the Bonus Laptop on the last three reels, at the same time. First, you are asked to choose a target to assassinate, out of the five shown on the screen. Each target will have a certain range for the possible rewards that it can bring you. Once you find out the prize that you will get by assassinating the target, you get to decide which weapon you want to use. The assassination comes next, and you will get a random multiplier added to the first reward. The game’s paytable claims to be able to offer you up to 270,000 coins through this feature. A second bonus game exists, a simpler one, which triggers through the Insignia symbol. You need these scattered on the first three columns. You just pick one of the symbols, on the same screen, and you get a reward as a multiple of the total bet. Up to 6,000 coins are offered by the Insignia Bonus. To get into the free spins mode, you need the symbol with the Red 18 Logo in a minimum of three positions. You get a feature with 18 free spins and with 2x multipliers used on all your wins. You don’t get the option to retrigger free spins. You get the same bonus games and expanding wilds here as you do in the base game. One of the four symbols which show you Agent 47 will also be the one to act as a wild. It’s used on the reels 2, 3 and 4 only, and it can expand on them, so you get an entire wild reel when at least one shows up. These wilds will not act as replacements for the three scatters.

Hitman

Jackpot

We know that the base game can pay a 4,000x top prize, which can be turned into $40,000 cash. We also know that the free spins double all wins, so you can get to $80,000 with their help. Working with an average Return to Player of 95.84%, the game is good enough to be worth playing, and it’s in line with what most slots offer right now.

Conclusion

It’s not a new game, or a very good looking one, but it’s got plenty of other advantages, like its big payouts or its many features. Overall, I think that you should give it a try if you played and enjoyed the video games based on which it was designed.
