About

boom-brothers-lines

Boom Brothers delivers a game that’s partially inspired by mining, but at the same time it also has main characters which appear to come from a steampunk universe. The brothers that the slot refers to are shown in the intro sequence, as dwarves that use explosives in a diamond mine. On the reels though, they look like Steampunk characters, robots of sorts, definitely made out of metal, same as the rest of the design that is in place. Up to 20 pay lines may be activated per round in Boom Brothers. The game will give you second chances, will have free spins with tripled wins, will deliver bonus games and a Railtrack feature, plus it will have wilds as well. The ultimate reward, at least for the paid spins, will reach values of $37,500, with the potential for more during the free spins.

Betting requirements

For the betting requirements of Boom Brothers, Net Ent has chosen to allow players to modify every aspect, from the number of lines (between 1 and 20), to the Bet Level (1 to 5 coins per line) or the Coin Value (starting at $0.01 and reaching a maximum value of $1). With those options in mind, you can use a total bet of up to $5 for one line and up to $100 for all 20 of them. It’s worth noting that this is one of the few games from Net Ent that let you pick how many lines are active.

Theme & Design

Though it’s supposed to be a diamond mining theme, one with dwarves in the main roles, what we actually seem to get is a Steampunk based atmosphere. The image in the background gives us images of steam whistles, rocks and various implements. The game area is surrounded by metal, spinning cogs and decorations in the same style, while wooden beams are part of the top and bottom areas. For the reels, they’ve gone with the same Steampunk inspired look. We get the Boom Brothers, but in robot like form here, made out of metal. We also get different tools that they might use, in each case the material of choice being metal. I enjoyed the graphics that the developers chose for Boom Brothers, I think that it’s a plus for it. This kind of Steampunk influence is not something that you’re going to see often, and Net Ent has done a good job implementing it. There are a lot of details in that design, which is something that I do expect to see every time I hear about a new game from this particular developer.

Special Features

I will start this part of the review with the wild symbol, simply because it is responsible for the biggest payouts which can be offered in the game, its own combinations bringing you up to 37,500 coins (7,500x). Naturally, you’re also looking at a symbol that has the power to act as any other symbol. Its ability to substitute for other symbols is only limited when it comes to the bonus and scatter symbols. The image picked for it is that of a round bomb with a lit fuse, and with the Wild logo on top of it. Next, we should look at the Free Spins symbol, and that’s exactly what it says on its logo. It’s a symbol that you may use from whatever position it happens to land in, but which will be useful to you only if you have a minimum of three. Free spins are awarded by them, where the wins are tripled. Even the losing spins can be turned into opportunities here, thanks to the 2nd Chance feature. It triggers at random, during rounds which bring you no wins, and it will offer you one of four chances to win something. The Railtrack Logo is going to be the trigger for the bonus game, but only if you have all five pieces of the track in place. With just three or four, you’re only getting a small prize (2x-3x the bet). The bonus game needs you to move a dwarf, and if you manage to make 5 steps, you win the round.

Jackpot

To get the really big prize of Boom Brothers, you need certain things to happen. First of all, you have to land a combo of five wild symbols, on the same line. Second, you need this win during the free spins, where all payouts are tripled. This is how you can get to the big reward, of $112,500. We’ve found out the average RTP for you, and in this case it seems that it is at 96.40%. It’s slightly above the average, but not by much and it’s in line with most games offered by Net Ent, which usually range from 96% to 97%.

Conclusion

You’re not going to have the option that often, to play a game with a good Steampunk influenced design, so for that alone and I think that the game is a good choice for a player.
