The best branded slots in our catalogue on RTP are NetEnt's music slots Guns N' Roses (96.98%) and Jimi Hendrix (96.90%), followed by Microgaming's Jurassic Park (96.67%) and Game of Thrones (96.40%). Branded slots are built under licence from a film, TV series, band or game, and the licence adds nothing to your odds: the maths model sets the return, and some branded titles sit well below the market average.

Below are the 20 branded slots we list, their RTPs from our catalogue, the licence facts we could confirm from the studio, and what the RTP gap costs you in shillings.

Three patterns stand out. The 17 branded slots with an RTP have a median of 95.84%, a little under the 96.01% median of the whole catalogue. None is rated high volatility: 15 are medium and 2 low, so branded slots suit steady sessions more than jackpot hunting. And the studio matters more than the brand: the three NetEnt titles have a median of 96.90%, the seven Microgaming titles 96.49% and the six Playtech titles 94.96%.

What the RTP gap costs you

The licence fee is the studio's cost, but the RTP decides yours. Average cost is total staked × (1 − RTP).

SlotRTPAverage cost of KSh 10,000 staked (500 spins at KSh 20)
Guns N' Roses96.98%KSh 302
Game of Thrones96.40%KSh 360
Iron Man94.89%KSh 511
RoboCop91.00%KSh 900

For the same entertainment, RoboCop costs about three times as much as Guns N' Roses per shilling staked. If two brands appeal to you equally, the higher-RTP one is the better deal. The RTP we list is the studio's figure; your casino may run a different version, so confirm it in the game's info screen (see the RTP guide).

Film and TV slots

Film and TV slots carry the show's artwork, characters and often clips or music into the bonus rounds. Browse them in the movie slots and TV slots collections.

Game of Thrones (Microgaming)

Microgaming launched Game of Thrones under licence from HBO in December 2014, in a 243 ways-to-win and a 15-line version. Three Iron Throne scatters start free spins and you choose a house: Baratheon gives 8 free spins at 5x, Lannister 10 at 4x, Stark 14 at 3x and Targaryen 18 at 2x. Fewer spins with a bigger multiplier is the higher-variance pick.

Jurassic Park (Microgaming)

Microgaming signed the Jurassic Park licence with Universal in January 2014 and released the slot that August. It uses 243 ways to win, and its free spins come in five modes, one for each dinosaur the game can pick.

Jumanji (NetEnt)

NetEnt released Jumanji, based on the 1995 film, on 20 June 2018. It uses an unusual 3-4-5-4-3 reel layout with 36 lines, four random modifiers and a board-game bonus with four free spins modes. NetEnt lists 96.33% RTP and a top win of 500 times the bet.

Music slots: licensed bands and soundtracks

Music slots license a band or artist and play their recordings during the game. NetEnt built a series of them, which it calls NetEnt Rocks.

Jimi Hendrix (NetEnt)

Released on 21 April 2016 as the second game in the NetEnt Rocks series, Jimi Hendrix is a 5-reel, 20-line slot. Red Guitar Re-Spins lock guitar symbols in place, Purple Haze turns the low symbols wild, and a pick-and-click bonus leads to one of three free spins modes named after songs: Crosstown Traffic, Little Wing and Purple Haze. NetEnt lists 96.90% RTP and a top win of 400 times the bet.

Guns N' Roses (NetEnt)

Guns N' Roses is the highest-RTP branded slot on this site at 96.98%. NetEnt no longer lists it on its own website, which can mean the licence has ended, so check that your casino still offers it before you plan around it.

Other music slots

NetEnt also released Ozzy Osbourne on 21 November 2019 (96.67% RTP on NetEnt's page), though it is not in our catalogue. Elvis Lives from Light & Wonder is the Elvis Presley title we list.

The music does not touch the maths. Muting the sound changes nothing about the RTP or the result of a spin, and a licensed track costs you no more than an original score; the house edge comes only from the game's model.

Try branded slots before you stake

Branded slots often have several bonus modes, and a few minutes in demo mode shows how often the feature you want comes up. Our free slots page explains how demo play works; casinos also offer demo mode for many titles in their lobby. When you play for real, set your budget in KSh first and size the stake to it: at KSh 20 a spin, KSh 2,000 gives you 100 spins. Payment options such as M-Pesa or Airtel Money depend on the casino's cashier. You must be 18 or older, and the responsible gaming page lists the tools that help you stay in control.
